Saturn-Neptune in Aries – A New Beginning - The Importance of Survival

In my January 2026 newsletter, I spoke of the need to ‘pause’ and reflect. It is often in this moment of stillness that we are offered hope, an essential component to enhance our well-being.

This reminds me of a recent cat video I saw posted online. I am not sure if it was real or AI generated. Three little kittens were joyfully playing in the front yard. From beyond, a roaring truck could be heard. It sounded as though it was barreling toward these innocent, adorable white fluffy babies. Instead of scattering, the kittens stopped in silence, ever present of their surroundings. In their motionless, instinctively, they became hypervigilant of what danger may be upon them.

Imagine for yourself how different your life would look if you practiced this same instinctive skill when the threat of danger or heartache entered your atmosphere. Our initial reaction might be to lash out in anger, fight back or run away, all with the hope of preserving our ego and pride.

Moreso, in this type of situation, the tendency gears toward personal survival.

Thankfully those kitties in the video were unharmed. By standing strong in their stillness, they were able to courageously and calmly sense what needed to be done.

Neptune entered the sign of Aries on January 26, 2026 to begin a 14-year journey. On February 13, 2026, the planet Saturn joined Neptune in the sign of Aries with both in exact alignment at 0 degrees 44 minutes on February 20, 2026 at 11:53 am ET.

Let’s break this down: Aries is the first sign of the zodiac often associated with a self-oriented mindset with the sole purpose of survival. Aries may fight their way through a situation with little regard to what comes next. With Aries, they are all that exist. Aries energy is dynamic, pioneering and competitive. Since there may be nothing to polarize their actions, the energy of Aries may also be portrayed as arrogant, hasty, domineering and even violent.

Saturn is the planet associated with form and structure, discipline and success. His job is to create order, instill ambition and cultivate responsibility that will afford a solid foundation, and secure boundaries to allow us to gain wisdom through the process of aging.

Neptune is said to rule the seas and to be formless. The energy of Neptune governs our desires, our dreams, spirit, personal ideals and a belief that anything is possible within the realm of the unknown or unseen. Neptune may often take us on this journey through theater, addiction, and a mystique that fill our senses. Neptune is about the desire to thrive beyond our earthly means. It is when the veil is lifted, the illusion or reality, will seek to fill the void.

As we quickly approach the zero-degree mark of the zodiac with the Saturn and Neptune conjunction, referred to as the ‘reset’ and new beginning – the concept of survival will begin to override the illusion of what it means to thrive.

For decades (since the last Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989 in Capricorn) the populous have been under the illusion of Accomplishment, above all. To measure success, the belief has been to show how high we are able to rise and prove we can work hard. We have been coached to believe that we must thrive well beyond the basic contentment of living.

Not everyone wants to climb a mountain or has the ‘hooves’ to do so. We see this failure in our society with people who give up or give in. They are called lazy or unmotivated or simply look for other avenues to distract themselves. These people may not want to commit to something that is unattainable. So why try?

My gut tells me that the average person wants to survive, to live and to enjoy the rewards of their own personal effort without expectation. It is a great motivator to feel that if you forge your own battle, you will always win.

We are offered a clean slate with this double Aries ingress. How will you live your life, knowing that you cannot lose if you put in the effort to survive first, do your personal best, all while utilizing your God-given purpose and will?

With Saturn in Aries for the next 2 ½ year this will teach us how to survive and how to become an independent warrior, one we can be proud of. This does not mean you have to fight, on the contrary. What the universe is asking currently is to learn how to cross the frontier on our own and gain from our own effort.

Learn to become self-sufficient and rely on your own abilities, to be autonomous, independent and ever strong.

When Saturn departs Aries in 2028, Neptune in Aries will have to navigate the sea alone until 2038. If you fail to develop your survival skills, you may be left behind.

My motto for this time frame and beyond is “buck-up buttercup”. No one will carry you. Embrace your independence. Stand tall in your own survival. By doing so, Neptune will offer you an endless sea of abundance and prosperity that is true for you.

Another watch for February is the Solar Eclipse on February 17, 2026 at 28 degrees Aquarius 50 minutes. Exact time will be 7:01 am ET. This may be a royal watch where King Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry move into the next chapter of their lives that may forever change the monarchy.
